Hi, I’m Johanna. I’m a homeschool mom of four, a licensed speech-language pathologist, and a lifelong lover of good books. My days are spent juggling read-alouds, sketching at the kitchen table, and helping kids discover the magic that unfolds when strong reading skills finally click.

I started The Reading Guild to help families and teachers guide kids back to real reading, equipping them with the tools to truly understand what they read and fall in love with books. After all, God gave us a book. And when children learn to read with understanding, the world opens up in ways that build both character and imagination.

With years of working with kids on language, literacy, and comprehension, I decided to illustrate literature companions to help reading time become richer, deeper, and far more joyful... and I am so glad to hear how my products have encouraged a true love for literature in classrooms and homes around the world.
